General description
Souji is a Japanese man in his early twenties, with long black hair which is either worn loose down his back in more casual situations, or tied in a high ponytail if he's expecting to have to fight. He looks fairly delicate at first glance, but a strict training regime since he was nine has given him muscles like steel wires under that pale skin.
His voice is surprisingly light and boyish for someone his age, and along with his rather feminine appearance it might cause confusion at times. He has a rather lively mimicry, but also moves very gracefully, with the control and ease of an experienced fighter.

Runes
The Mountain God left Souji with some runes stuck on his body! There are two on his sword hand, picked out in what looks like fresh blood - one on the back, which is the "makoto" kanji from the Shinsengumi flag, and one in the palm, which is the kanji for "oni". The last one is stamped right on his throat, and it's Hijikata's seal, which instead glows the color of a particularly vibrant plum blossom.
Clothes
Since he arrived like everyone else with only the clothes on his back, he has been getting used to the more western fashions present in Ryslig in a somewhat erratic manner. And now that he has no legs, pants are pretty much out of the question, so he'll be sticking to short dresses (x x) in the summer, and longer skirts (x x) in the winter, usually along with ordinary men's shirts and vests. He never used to give that much of a toss about things that were considered gendered even back where he was from, and since he honestly can't make head or tails of western clothing customs anyway, he'll just wear whatever is comfortable and practical.
Additionally, since he is cold-blooded, as soon as the temperature drops he will be wearing very long for coats (x x x x) along with gloves and hats and scarves as soon as he ventures outside.
Transformations
His eyes were the first to transform, and are now a marbled grayish blue with a slit pupil. After that his tongue slowly split over the course of a week or so, and is now fully cloven and its color has shifted to a dark gray, almost black.
Souji is now fully transformed. This involves almost 20 feet of naga tail instead of legs, and also scales on his back and shoulders, along his collar bones, and in a thin line following his hairline, almost like a coronet. The picture above show the very distinctive shape of these scales, those of a hairy bush viper, but the color is that of an ordinary bush viper in its blue phase. They are fairly large, ranging from the size of large coins toward where they meet his skin, to three times that size along his spine and on his shoulders. His skin close to his scales seems to be faintly blue as well.
He also has claws on his hands, can unhinge his jaw, and has snake fangs. These resemble those of an African burrowing asp, which is to say that when extended they actually will protrude from his mouth, and they can be swiveled individually, meaning that he can strike with his mouth closed (and also look kind of like a tool while they're out). He also has a band of shallow indentations underneath each eye, the physical sign of his infrared vision.
He is capable of turning into a snake. Namely, he can take on the utterly adorable shape of a hairy bush viper, the only difference being that he is still definitely blue. He will also be somewhat bigger than what is normal for the breed.
Fog form
Souji's fog form isn't as dramatic as others, but there are still some definite changes. His scales will spread to cover his arms and neck, dipping down the middle of his chest, and his skin will go full blue blue and gain a faint scale-like pattern. His face will flatten out and become a bit more snakelike, and his eyes will gain a faint, grainy blue glow. His tail will grow with about ten feet. But the most notable change will be the growth of the hood of this little asshole, the Indochinese spitting cobra, though in white and dark blue instead. This skin of the hood will start about two inches above the base of his skull, the extra set of ribs required spouting from the top op his spine and about two thirds of the way down his back, where it blends into his more normal scales.
He's also gifted with three temporary hair snakes ( 1 + 2 + 3 ) with somewhat familiar personalities - for snakes, at least.
A less noticeable change is that while he's more flexible in general as a naga - no proper hips does that - during the fog he will be incredibly flexible. All bone (apart from his skull, obviously) and joints seem replaced by spine-like tissue instead, meaning he can roll his arms up the way he does with his tail, and twist his fingers and shoulders in ways that would bring tears to the eyes of a chiropractor.
Pig
Souji asked for his pet pig Saizou from Tikbalang. The request was granted, but on top of his already rather grumpy appearance, the tiny pig now also sports tiny (useless) wings, a couple of stubby little horns, and a longer tail with something like a burr on the end.
Souji often brings Saizou along with him, either running around freely so he can headbutt people's ankles, or nestled in his arms.
